Roundup of Tribal News

tribe penThe Tribe Store over at Tribeworld is now accepting orders for Christmas, although you can only order by Credit Card much to the dismay of a lot of fans.

Personally, I think it's a great move. Cheques are the spawn of satan!

You can get an order form from here.

Tribe Tour VidThe list of items, with pictures when clicked on, is available here. Some of the more interesting items are a new pen, a thermos flask (if I wasn't going to buy a nice metalic one for the car I could of been persuaded as it's nice and cheap :lol and the video from the Tour 2003. No idea whether it includes me, doubt it though. But it'd be cool if it did!

The regular items are all in there too, the beanie, the caps, hats, t-shirts, mouse mats and the videos of bloopers and music vids. They are also selling the DVD box set for £24.00 + P&P. Also, if you're lucky they might throw in some freebies!

Tribe CoverThere is a new album out, the tribe remixed. Or new edition. Depending where you shop. Basically it's a load of the old songs re-mixed chucked in with a few new ones.

Tracklisting is as follows:

1. Banging the drum
2. You Belong To Me
3. This Is The Place
4. Spinning
5. Urban guerrilla - "The Technos" style music.
6. Beep! Beep!
7. I Can't Stop
8. Everywhere you go
9. Abe Messiah
10. Abadeo
11. Tribe Spirit - Series 4/5 end theme
12. Reflections - Slow incidental music, sounds like something from Revelations!
13. Day in the urban jungle - More incidental music.
14. The Dream Must Stay Alive.

The three new tracks (discounting Tribe Spirit) are pretty much the incidental music that they use in Series 4 and 5, which in my own opinion is what gave the latter few series' their tacky feel. The incidental music from the first three series' was very atmospheric. These sound like some kid has been let loose on an electronic keyboard. *shrugs* That's the way the show is going though.

That's about all for now! I've not been working on this site due to heaps of coursework being done at Uni, honest. Check BuhSnarf.net for details of my hectic life!

Please come again...

So long little one...
Posted by TheMole at 08:15 PM on October 27, 2003

Yeh, I appologise. I've been really bad in the last month. Well, with respect to this site I have. I have been snowed under with work, Uni and a hectic social (heh ) life.

However, I endeavour to update you on a few changes round here. You may have noticed that the news page is looking a lot more fresher and that the A to Z section is starting to take shape. I'm just currently adding a few articles to it and maybe going to finish off all the letters of the alphabet! Who knows, I may actually finish something that I start. It'd be a first, I'd admit.

Also. Big News - if you haven't already noticed the Fan Fiction part of the site is now up and I'm currently adding stories that I've read and love and cherish to it. You can suggest titles for me to read at the usual address, tribe at themole.yi.org.

But, go check both sections out as they took a while to do!

Stay Tribal, or in school.

Happy Birthday Tribe.net
Posted by TheMole at 10:19 PM on September 21, 2003

Tribe.net over the last month reached it's third birthday. Created at some unknown date in August of 2000 just weeks before As The World Falls Down by Jess this site was unleashed to an unknowing public. It's been a up and down ride for the site. Gaining popularity when I was well known on the Tribe Talk forums and hosted the official UBB Gallery, thanks to tinycracker!, down the lows of the past year where I've been busy with uni, life and stuff. Even though I've nearly completely finished making this site work again after messing up the old database I'm not going to give you any illusions that it will be a reguarly updated thing - I just don't have the time.

However, thank you for visiting at any point in the last three years. Hopefully you'll continue to visit and spread the word. Over 1 million unique visits can't be wrong, can it?

Also, happy birthday to As The World Falls Down.

Updates on the way tonight, maybe, depending on how I'm feeling.

Tour for August 2003 confirmed..
Posted by TheMole at 11:39 PM on August 10, 2003

The tour I mentioned in brief in an earlier posting has now been confirmed by the masters that be (tribeworld.com) and we shall be seeing four cast members heading their way over here to sunny ol' England for a brief one date appearance at the end of this month.

Appearing in a charity show they will be at the Hippodrome in Lodnon's Leicester Square on the afternoon of August 23rd. For those of you thinking "Oh, I wont go as I'll miss the show!" they are giving us a screening of the ep before they bring out the cast.

Apparently it's going to be quite an informal session with cast and fans mingling in some sort of ordered fashion.

So, if you're free on the 23rd of August why not pop down and see what the fuss is about?!

New Content...
Posted by TheMole at 10:38 PM on July 25, 2003

Evenin' everybody.

Firstly thank you to Jessie of All Things Tribal for naming me Tribe Site of the month for June. Okay, yeh, I'm behind already at doing updates and I've only had the site back up for a couple of weeks.

Ahh, yes, as I said. New content. I've now added menu entries for Music, A 2 Z, Fan Fiction, Interact and Awards.

Music already contains information on the Tribe Album, including lyrics and a bit of info on the album. I hope to add a bit more over the coming weeks. I'll keep you up to date as ever, though

A 2 Z - I'm hopefully going to build this into a one stop Tribal reference guide. That's my hope anyway. Currently building and working out how to do it.

Fan Fiction will hopefully contain links to all of my favourite stories and maybe some hosted ones. Time will tell.

Interact - Not up yet, but there will be ways to contact me, ways to talk to other fans and the like like that. Guestbook etc. will go in there, I guess. grr.

Awards is already half up. Have a read in their to see what my plans are concerning that section. It'll hopefully catch on, who know's, eh?

So, yeh, that's all for today's update! Sorry it's been a while, but I've been hollydaying and working!

Dragon-Con
Posted by TheMole at 01:59 AM on July 09, 2003

In case you've been living under a rock you'll know that five of the Tribe's top cast are heading off to America to be guests at Dragon-con in Atlanta. The convention will take place over four days between the 29th of August and 1st of September. It's America's largest Sci-fi and popular arts fair and has been going for a whopping 17 years (as of this year.)

The cast that you can see there are:

Beth Allen
Caleb Ross
Meryl Cassie
Tom Hern
Michael Wesley-Smith

Mike is a new announcement and was added as a replacement for Tribe creator Raymond Thompson who's (allegedly) pulled out due to illness. I'm not entirely sure on that, so (as ever) don't quote me!

To all those that are going, have fun! And if anyof you nice people want to let me use your photos on my site then I'll be happy to host them for you!

Two in one day, I'm doing good

Rumours..
Posted by TheMole at 01:47 AM on July 09, 2003

Just wanna share some rumours that you may or may not of heard about. None of these are confirmed by Cloud 9 and many are doubted by myself but just a quick round-up. bah

May & Salene - The big one at the minute is will Cloud 9 be daft enough to include a same sex relationship between the red headed Sal and the fiesty May? Everyone thinks there is going to be because it was leaked from a Finnish magazine. I'm personally not quite sure, although C9 did hint that they would be touching on the subject around the start of Series Four, when they also hinted that they would touch on disability (in RAM) and drug usage (in the Paradise obsession.) With the last few episodes I do see something happening so we could all be in for a very cringe worthy episode knowing C9. bah!

People returning - Rumours have it that Ryan will be returning. I've heard this from various people but I can't see it happening to be honest. As ever there are the rumours of Dwayne Cameron, Amy Morrison and Ella Wilks returning. I strongly doubt either of those three will. Tribeworld have hinted that Damon Andrews, Vanessa Stacey and Ari Boyland are all returning towards the end of this series. I've also heard on the grapevine that Andy (Ned's brother) will be returning - but only as an extra.

People getting 'deleted' - My sources tell me that the following are all up for axe this series. Mega, Jay, Java and Siva. Mega dies in the "virtual world" after a fight with another major charector. Most likely Zoot. Jay is rumoured to not be featuring in Series six (if one is made) due to other commitments. Java and Siva apparently die in an all sisters fight with phasers. Ick. I believe they wont be the only four to die. I personally feel Amber, Ruby, Slade, Gel, Ellie and Jack wont be staying on in Series six.

And we all hoped 'cyberspace' was going! - Virtual reality is likely to be the cliffhanger for this series too. With a big fight between some of the major charectors and some mind loss going on.

As ever though, all rumours. Make of them what you will. I don't believe them all, but some sound plausible, for Tribe standards!

Comment on what you think!

What do you think?
Posted by TheMole at 12:06 AM on July 01, 2003

I know the site is pretty lacking in content at the minute and most of the old stuff isn't even online here, or is but just looks absolutely minging. What do you think of the new layout? It's a rehash of the old version 4 design which looked something like this (appologise if that loads slow but it's from the Internet Archive thing which tends to be slow most of the time.

Anyways, back on with the site news! Which I'm sure you've not heard of in a long time.

Welcome to an attempt to be one of the better Tribe fansites on the web. I hope to be one of the better as I've been around for nearly three years. The site first launched in August of 2001 as a place where I could write about things tribal and basically offer some information to the masses as to what the program was about. At that time I counted around twenty fansites that I knew of, now I know iof way over a hundred and the Tribeworld links page lists a lot of them. I hope you enjoy your stay here and will return at some point in the future when hopefully there will be more content, more interactive-ness and any news you might wanna know about.

Disclaimer: I'm not making a pledge that the site will be reguarly updated as I have many personal commitments which I didn't have back in 2000 such as a loving partner, a uni course and two jobs. I do, however, hope to get it at least back to it's previous state and maybe tidy up the odd few links. With the news system also now linked to the one used on my personal site I should also find publishing new articles a lot easier.

If you click the comments link below and leave me a few comments on how you think the site looks, feels etc. I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

Tribe Tour :: Bristol
Posted by TheMole at 11:18 PM on April 09, 2003

Yeh, I went again. This time to Bristol. A two and a half hour train journey away. That was full of broken trains and manic connections!

First off, we were meant to catch the 8.49 from Leics to New Street. I'd arranged to catch this with Rhys who I found out lived in Leicester srg. The train had broken down further up the line so we didn't get going until ten past nine. We then just made it in time to make our connection at New Street where we joined up with Carl.

When we found the Big W we went inside and found that Analie and her Mum, Lorainne, were already there and we made sure that the Big W head man knew that we were first in the line. We played ball outside in our little pen, some volleyball, sang B.I.N.G.O. (okay, I didn't join in!) and I kept taking Analie in to look round the shop as she was getting cold! Aww

When the cast came in we were first in line and got to sing Happy Birthday to Meryl. We later got her a card too as we're nice and all signed it.

As I got to the table I handed in my framed picture for which I wanted them to keep and I had my black & white one that I kept for the cast to sign. She seemed really impressed with it (I imagine it'll end up in a bin at Cloud 9 though buh.)

I got to meet Matt who plays Slade, the new Series 5 (I have to admit I've not seen any S5 yet!) dude. He's from Reading or something here in the UK and he's a sound chap. Then it was the usual six. I corrected Trudy on getting my name wrong and she seemed really appologetic. They were all really impressed with my photo thing I'd done. grin

We then sat in Burger King behind the cast as there wasn't any room in front really. I stood and spoke with Saranne and Emily for most of the afternoon. They're really cool people. I must not insult Emily anymore, she's quite a capable Admin. It's quite odd to know that she frequents MoleTalk from time to time asdf. Discussed everything from cast leaving to the German magazine and they let a few hints slip. *lips sealed though* Dave The Driver kept telling us to sit down and actually had a go at me and Analie for sitting on a table. We told Saranne about this and she said that he does that to all of them as well. I asked for a group shot of us true fans. She said she'd see what she could do!

Guess what? We got a group shot!!! Myself, Carl, Analie, Shabbs, Rhys all got to get in on the shot. It was nice. We got hugs and shook hands with all the cast and some of them had even remembered my name as Matt said to me "Thanks for coming, Brett, it was good to see you." I was shocked as not many people remember my name. e

They then left and we watched them leave the building and had a long train jouney again with a mad connection change. We litterally ran from one train to the other as the doors were closing.

Another good day! Thank you to Saranne for organising everything and for talking to us and stuffs.

Tribe Tour :: Birmingham
Posted by TheMole at 10:53 PM on April 09, 2003

Okay, it's hard to write about something that was over a week ago now. But I'm going to try and summarise it all here so that I can remember for the future and stuff.

I didn't go to last years tour event at Star City as I was stuck at work but this year I actually had a day off that was on the day of the event. It really was a last minute decision to go.

I jumped on a train Saturday morning not really knowing what to expect. It was just a quick ride from New Street to the Big W store where I met Charli (eclipse) for the first time. It was actually quite odd meeting her and I didn't have anything to say! odd I then bumped to the front of the queue with ck!!! and Rhiannon and that's where I stayed for the whole time we queued (near on three hours!) It was nice to finally meet the two biggest fans in the world! yeh Also was nice to meet them as I've probably known them nearly five years.

The tables for the cast were located against a big glass window that we were all queing against. It was an amazing site once the cast started arranging themselves on the table. The crowd just stuck to the window! I imagine there was probably around 300 people there in total. It was a good turnout and the queue was nice and friendly which was good.

I was in the third group of six that got let in, along with Carl and Rhiannon, behind. It was really odd seeing them in real life, they seemed somewhat smaller and it was kinda surreal after watching them on TV.

Tom Hern was first and was really cool (and I'll admit, looking very nice!) I told him that Rhi had developed a big crush on him in the last ten minutes bleh. Saranne had also spotted us and announced to the cast who the three of us were. Tom said "Ahh, so you're the infamous Mole!" Quite scary, did they actually know who I was?! But quite cool at the same time!

Danny James was dressed as Zoot, complete with contacts that were scary. I think he's still got the accent that's most NZish. It's a loverly accent. He was also a dude.

Michael Wesley-Smith was next and was also reall cool. Rhi was almost fainting at this point. Both Tom and Mikey. And from here on my camera and carl's camera just kept messing up! So I've got five shots of me and Mikey! At least one turned out okay. Shame that can't be said for any of the other cast shots.

Toni Prebble was next and, thankfully, she's nothing like her whiney charector. She's really nice, she got my name wrong though as we were messing around with the cameras and that's why we've got the awkward looking shot of me and her!

Meryl Cassie was next and she is such a cute tiny thing. She's very bubbly though and, again, thankfully much nicer in real life than her charector. She signed, we had a photo and moved along sg.

Beth Allen was next. I wont go into Rhys' crying antics. Saranne, who had followed us along, told me I had to cry too! I said I couldn't, but could I have an autograph anyways? Beth said yes. Got my photo signed, a photo with her and a hug and that was all six of them!

Emily, Miss Internet Services, was sat on the end filming and I said "hullo." Bless her.

The rest of the afternoon we spent opposite the cast watching the rest of the crowd getting things signed and getting them to do silly things so we could have photos of them.

When I was leaving to go back to New Street with Rhiannon and Carl there was still a massive queue outside.

It was a good day.

Series V Cast Announcements
Posted by TheMole at 11:04 AM on October 28, 2002
Probably not back for good, but back for a while whilst I update some of the things for Series five, clean it up a little and add a few more people to the gallery..

Speaking of the gallery, curses to the person that put gallery@themole . yi . org into their address book, 'cause I've had about the whole of the boards spam and virus ridden email over the past two months! People install some virus protection!

So on Tribe related stuff. The following have been confirmed as charectors for the upcoming Series 5.

Beth Allen
Amber

Adam Sandej
Baby Bray
Tori Spence
Salene
Lucas Haywood
Sammy
Matt Robinson
Slade
Danny James
Zoot / Martin

Digging up on the new charectors I found that the girl that's playing "Gel" has been in a short film that's available on the 'net at atomfilms.com... Click her name to go to it.

They're all NZers (afaik) so that means no dodgey sounding newcastlians .. No offence to them... Just Dee was *annoying*.

'bout it for today.

Also, I've just redone the table to make it a little easier to summarise and read... Aren't I good to you?

TheMole.
